Interim FP&A Analyst
Job description
As this health tech company scales, so do the demands on Finance. We are looking for an experienced FP&A contractor to join a small, high-performing team at a pivotal
moment — creating the bandwidth we need to transform the Finance function. The role combines reliable support in delivery of core reporting and planning cycles, hands-on support with data pulls and ad-hoc requests from the business, and active contribution to automating the repetitive, manual work that currently slows the team down. In doing so, it frees the wider team to focus on making Finance a faster, sharper enabler of decision-making across the organisation.
Run core FP&A processes
- Help run recurring reporting cycles: monthly variance analysis, management reporting, and CFO/Board performance packs
- Help build and support the (rolling) forecast process including Annual Budget.
- Help maintain and develop financial models in Excel with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and usability
- Coordinate with Accounting around month-end close, accruals and intercompany inputs
- Pull, reconcile, and structure data from source systems to support recurring
- reporting and one-off requests — turning raw inputs into something the team and stakeholders can act on
- Prepare clear, well-structured PowerPoint outputs for senior leadership and external audiences
Expand business partnering
- Build the reporting and information processes that keep key stakeholders (commercial, operations and leadership) effectively informed on a recurring basis, so conversations can focus on results and variances rather than fixing the basics
- Use that foundation to translate financial data into actionable insight moving beyond reporting the numbers to helping stakeholders understand and act on them
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from across the business — analyses, data cuts and scenario modelling — with the turnaround and clarity stakeholders need to act in real time
- Contribute to a consistent KPI framework that gives the business a reliable, shared view of performance
- Build trusted working relationships as the natural outcome of consistent, wellinformed delivery — leaving behind a way of working that outlasts the contract.
Improve how Finance works
- Identify and act on opportunities to automate the repetitive, manual tasks that consume disproportionate time today — and more broadly, simplify and standardize recurring finance processes so the team can spend more time on higher-value work
- Help develop reporting templates and planning tools that are easier to maintain and more useful to their audience
- Bring a continuous improvement mindset: leave every process you touch in better shape than you found it
- Contribute directly to the wider transformation of the Finance function, helping the team move from reactive reporting to proactive partnering, with better tools, leaner processes, and more time for analysis
Requirements
Essential
- Solid FP&A experience (5–7 years), ideally in a fast-growing or scaling business
- MedTech or life sciences background: comfortable with the commercial dynamics, reporting cadence and investor expectations of this sector
- Strong Excel skills, able to work confidently with existing models and build new ones where needed
- Clear, confident PowerPoint skills — translates analysis into slides that tell a story
- Natural communicator and relationship-builder: equally at ease with Finance colleagues and non-finance stakeholders
- Self-directed and dependable — takes ownership of a deliverable and sees it through without needing to be managed closely
- Comfortable using AI tools as part of how you work — or genuinely eager to build that fluency quickly. You do not need to be an expert today, but you should see AI as a core part of how modern Finance gets done
- Familiarity with BI or reporting tooling (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent)
- Prior experience working in or alongside a process improvement or finance effectiveness programme
- Dutch or European market experience
