Financial Accountant

Position

As Financial Accountant at CRC Evans, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth month-end closing process for the Dutch legal entities while maintaining compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and statutory requirements. Your responsibilities will include preparing balance sheet reconciliations, leading the year-end audit process and managing local compliance filings. This role offers significant exposure to international stakeholders and involves close collaboration with colleagues across various CRC Evans offices worldwide (with no frequent travel required).

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure a high-quality month-end closing process for the Dutch legal entities, including prepayments, accruals, transactional line-by-line review and supporting the preparation of management reporting
  • Prepare and review balance sheet accounts within the scope of the role, ensuring monthly account reconciliations are completed and that action plans are implemented to resolve outstanding issues
  • Process month-end and year-end audit and management accounting journal
  • Lead local external audits ensuring high quality and prompt responses are provided to the Audit Team. Highlighting any areas of concern to the EMEAA Finance Director
  • Assist in coordinating subsidiary statutory audits and preparing financial statements, ensuring timely & accurate filings
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns (corporate income tax, VAT/GST and payroll taxes) in cooperation with external tax advisors
  • Maintain strong internal controls to mitigate financial risks and prevent fraud
  • Support one-off projects such as the implementation of a new ERP and consolidation system

Profile

You are a financial accounting professional with strong knowledge of Dutch laws and regulations who enjoys working in a hybrid role within a global organization. You naturally take ownership and thrive in a self-starting environment. You are a strong communicator who enjoys collaborating with others, stays closely connected with colleagues, asks questions when needed and knows when to seek support.

You have:

  • A bachelor or master degree in Accounting, preferably complemented by an RA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within a complex international environment and with exposure to IFRS
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English

You are:

  • Diligent, organized and forward-thinking
  • A hands-on problem solver, comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get things done
  • IT savvy, with Excel skills and a solid understanding of ERP systems

You will report directly to the Finance Director EMEAA, who is based in Scotland.

Remuneration:

  • Salary between €72,000 and €88,000 gross annually (including holiday allowance)
  • Travel allowance up to 60 KM one way at €0,23 nett per km and €0,05 gros per km
  • 25 vacation days with the possibility to buy 10 additional days
  • Pension plan (50% employer contribution)
