Interim Cost Controller

Job description

As this health tech company scales, so do the demands on Finance. We are looking for an interim, experienced Cost Controller to join a small, high-performing team and to help strengthening the financial backbone of the operations. You will provide the insights that drive smarter decisions across manufacturing, pricing and operational efficiency. By ensuring accurate cost data and identifying opportunities for improvement, your work will directly influence profitability, scalability and the ability to deliver high-quality products to customers.

They are in a dynamic growth phase, where processes and structures are still evolving. This means you won't just work within the system, you will help build it. You will bring clarity where there is complexity, create structure where needed and introduce best practices that enable the business to scale with confidence.

Analyze and report on product costs (incl. materials, labor and overhead) to support informed decision making
Maintain and update standard costing models and bill of materials (BOM) to ensure data accuracy
Perform monthly variance analysis and translate findings into actionable insights
Investigate discrepancies and recommend cost optimization initiatives with Operations
Support month-end close activities
Act as a trusted business partner between Finance and Operations, identifying efficiency opportunities and supporting strategic initiatives

Requirements

Bachelor or Master Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field with solid cost accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis and inventory valuation
Hands-on experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to partner across Finance and Operations
